Gloo
Personal project
Designing calm, high-stakes interfaces
Gloo is a self-initiated product exploring how digital interfaces can support people managing complex, high-frequency decisions. In this case: Type 1 diabetes management using CGMs and insulin injections.
Most health apps optimise for engagement and data capture. For someone living with a condition daily, this often creates noise, friction, and cognitive overload, exactly when clarity matters most.
I reframed success as time not spent in the app.
The interface was designed to be readable at a glance, compressing multiple decisions into minimal interaction. Through iterative experimentation, I developed an input systems optimised for speed and muscle memory, offering flexibility while unobtrusively suggesting a calculated dose.
Outcome
A deliberately glanceable interface that supports complex reasoning while remaining unassuming and straightforward.
